White Water Rafting In
NEPAL |
 |
 |
|
White water rafting is a special venture in the
river on an inflatable rubber boat. A river trips in usually an
adventure but not always. The most thrilling, exciting and exotic
river trips in Nepal can be arranged with a registered rafting
agency only. You have to choose river trips lasting 1 to 12 days on
some of the best and exciting rivers in Nepal. These wild rivers
rising from the hidden plateau of Tibet cu deep down the rugged
sloppy mid-hills of Nepal and then finally meander across the Indian
Plain to join the holy waters of the River Gangs. In a country like
Nepal, a river trip is one of the best nobles always to explore a
typical cross section of the country's natural as well as Ethan
cultural heritage.
Whether it's just the two of you for a romantic escape or perhaps. A
group of friends outing, this action packed jaunt to the foothills
will surely become a favorite outing sport of yours for many years
to come. The river flows and passes through some of the most
beautiful canyons, ethnic villages and landscapes of Nepal.
The trips offer full spectrum of wilderness river experiences from
the gently flowing stretches to the loud roaring wild and wet
rapids. All guides are highly trained and qualified in the aquatic
sport for white water river rafting. |
Bhote Koshi Grade (4-5) |
|
It's 3½ hours drive from Kathmandu. Bhote
Kosi is a beautiful mountain river without a doubt the full
action packed short white-water run in Nepal. 'Bhote'
roughly translates, as 'river from Tibet' so there are quite
a lot of rivers with this name in Nepal and Bhote Kosi is
the main branch of the Sun Kosi. The river drops steeply
offering relentless stretches of grade III-IV white-water.
Boulder gardens, small waterfalls, steep chutes and 90degree
bends are just some of the obstacles to be overcome. This
river is not typical of the big volume waters of the
Himalayan, it is steep and technical and requires a reactive
crew. |
Marshyangdi River |
|
The Marshyangdi River is one of the most
outstanding grade IV Kayaking Rivers in the world.
Continuous, exhilarating white-water with magnificent
mountain backdrops and drains the northern slope of the
Annapurna Himal. It flows east through an arid valley around
Manang and then swings south to join the Trisuli River at
Mugling. Marshyangdi means 'raging river' in local dialect.
It was opened to commercial rafting in 1996 and demands 100%
Commitment from both crew and guide. It is totally different
from the big volume rivers like Sun Kosi and Karnali, the
rapids are technical and require a very different approach.
Need 100% power and a good line, fast reactions from crew to
get through this pinball machine and quickly forges raft
crews of complete strangers into true teams. We recommend
only for expert kayakers from Ngadi. |
Kali Gandaki |
|
The upper part is a beautiful unspoiled
river with good white water, gorges and a feeling of
remoteness. The lower part is a big but relatively easy
river, with small gorges, jungle and an abundance of
wildlife. A combined upper and lower part of the river is a
classic, best of its kind.
The Kali Gandaki rises in Mustang. Here it is a flat and
braided river, flowing in an arid open valley. At Kalopani
(black water) the river drops off the roof of the world and
cuts one of the deepest gorges in the world between
Dhaulagiri, height 8,167 m and Annapurna, height 8,091 m.
The Kali Gandaki is named after the goddess Kali and is
considered a particularly holy river. It is also a gold
bearing river, and we met several small groups who were
sluicing and panning the gravel's of the river bed for
minuscule amounts of metal. |

with good reason. |
Trisuli River Grade (3+) |
|
Rated at grade 3+ the Trisuli River is one
of the most popular of Nepal's raftable rivers. Due to its
proximity to Kathmandu and easy road access, most rafting
companies offer trips there. Many visitors choose to
