Mustang trekking

Mustang Trek

There are two treks possible in Mustang region which is restricated and controlled trekking region. Trekkers must have special entry permit to do trek in Mustang.It is known as upper mustang trekking & lower mustang trekking. This trek takes you in the land of ancient Himalayan Kingdom which lies in the northern central part of Nepal near the Tibet border and at the top of the Kaligandaki River. The local people of Mustang follows tibetan tradition and culture. Lomanthang is the capital of local autonomy state Mustang though it is in the sovereignty of Nepal government.

World Heritage Treks & expedition taking many no of group in historical place since 1992.Treks up to upper Mustang consists of two distinct regions: the southern part and the northern where the languages, culture and traditions are alike to those of the Tibetan people. Trekking in Mustang is truly one of the most rewarding experiences in trekking in Nepal. This area is consider as one of the most interesting and picturesque places in Nepal. The whole area has an isolated and mystical feel to it, enchanting and inspiring visitors to this region. The route entails traveling across desert like landscape, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. It is a land of barley field and pasture where sheep are seen grazing and ponies are used to carry loads.

 Upper mustang & lower mustang trekking is famous and non tourist area of Nepal trekking. The trek to Lo- Manthang is through high altitude desert country climbing in and out of the huge sided valley of the Kali Gandaki. In places the gorge which the Kali Gandaki River runs through is the deepest in the world. This region is full of some of Nepal’s oldest Buddhist Monasteries, ancient and isolated villages with quaint white washed houses.
